A look back at 2017 and our awards

As a small, independent, family-run care home we often find ourselves in competition with the “big guys” when it comes to awards for our sector.

So we have been delighted by our various award successes, in one case reaching the finals of the National Care Awards 2017, where Suzanne Parmenter and Linda Allday were in the finals for the Commitment to Training and Development Award and Jenny Sheldon and Tracey Winkworth were in the finals for the Catering Team of the Year Award.

The whole team was the winner in the East of England Care Awards 2017 and several individual members of the team were runners up in various specialist awards.

You can see all the awards and pictures of those who were in them at https://www.aveleylodge.com/awards/

We’re proud of their achievements, but we’re even prouder of the work they each do at Aveley Lodge that contributes to our commitment to ensuring dignity and respect for each and every resident and to providing every one of them with as much independence, choice and information as possible to help them feel that they have as much control as possible over their lives.

So, at the start of a new year, we’d like to congratulate and thank all our staff, not only the award finalists and winners, for their continuous dedication, caring and innovative thinking that helps us to ensure the best possible experience for our residents.

We would also like to thank those in the wider community who also actively contribute to the Aveley community, its work and the residents’ quality of life.

Without all of you, we would not have been able to run Aveley Lodge through two generations.
