23rd – St Georges Day celebrations with a 1930’s & 40’s theme with entertainment by Deb and Leanne at 1.30pm. (Please feel free to wear clothing similar to that era or something red, white and blue)

7th – May Day. Help Jackie decorate Aveley’s very own May Pole and find out who’s this years May Queen or King

10th – Aveley Lodge Resident’s Quiz Afternoon starting at 1.30pm

17th – Visit from 1st Monkwick Brownie pack between 6-7pm

19th – The Royal Wedding. You are cordially invited to watch the wedding of HRH Prince Harry to Meghan Markle live at Aveley Lodge. Please wear your finest clothing and hats. An English themed Afternoon Tea will be served from 3.30pm onwards

26th – France Day (wear something red, white and blue) Food served from 12.30pm onwards

 JUNE

2nd – Aveley Lodge’s Beach Party (Please wear themed clothing if possible) Fish and Chips and ice creams to be served in the garden from 12.30pm onwards. A Rat Pack tribute artist will be providing the afternoons entertainment.

4th – Visit by Pets As Therapy Dog at 11am

7th – Visit from Rowhedge Pre-school children (Teddy Bears Picnic)

12th – Coffee Morning from 10am – 11am with entertainment by Deb and Leanne from 11am.

14th – Cupcake Challenge Charity Day in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society

17th – Father’s Day. Nautical themed activities to celebrate

22nd – Deb and Leanne’s entertainment show from 2pm

23rd – Sharon Mooney, Tour Guide for Colchester, presentation and talk on the history of Colchester during the Edwardian period at 2pm

25th – Church visit at 10.30am followed by “Twilight” the Barn Owl visiting at 2pm. A chance for all to get up close and personal with a barn owl and learn more about these amazing birds.

11th – Remembrance Day Centenary. Join us to mark 100 years since the end of the First World War with themed craft events and displays. Further details to follow.
