28th – Australia Day. Themed food will be served from 12.30pm onwards. Please wear something blue and white to help us commemorate Australia Day

FEBRUARY

5th – Chinese New Year (themed arts and crafts)

7th – Visit from Rowhedge Pre-school children (Ball Games)

8th – Cooking Club with Jenny 2pm – 3.30pm

14th – Valentine’s Day (themed arts and crafts)

20th – Casino afternoon and Cocktail party. Please dress up in your finest clothing to enjoy an afternoon and evening of fun and games.

21st – Visit from 1st Monkwick Brownie pack between 6.30-7.30pm

23rd – Afternoon Tea from 3.30pm onwards

MARCH

1st – St David’s Day. (Themed arts and craft activities to celebrate)

4th – World Wildlife Day with Big Cat theme (charity event) and visit by Pets As Therapy Dog at 11am

7th – Visit from Rowhedge Pre-school children (Easter Crafts) followed by Cooking Club with Jenny 2pm – 3.30pm

14th – Musical performance by Bell Ringers from 1.30pm

16th – Afternoon Tea from 3.30pm onwards

18th – Irish theme day to celebrate St Patricks day. Themed food will be served from 12.30pm onwards. Please wear something green.

22nd – Church visit at 10.30am followed by Aveley Lodge Residents Quiz Afternoon from 1.30pm

9th – Country and Western theme day. Themed food will be served from 12.30pm onwards. Please wear jeans and/or western style clothing followed by Deb and Leanne’s entertainment show with a Western Theme from 1.30pm

5th – “Twilight” the Barn Owl visiting at 2pm. A chance for all to get up close and personal with a barn owl and learn more about these amazing birds.

13th – Visit from Rowhedge Pre-school children (Art and colouring) followed by a performance by The Aveley Lodge Amateur Dramatics Group of “The Jungle Book” to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

16th – Father’s Day (themed arts and crafts)

21st – Church visit at 10.30am followed by Wildscience Pet Therapy visit from 2pm

26th – Derek Coe conducting a presentation and talk on Teaching and School Life from the past at 1.30pm

27th – Visit from Rowhedge Pre-school children (Magic Table)

JULY

12th – Under The Sea theme day. Seafood themed lunch will be served from 12.30pm onwards. Please wear something nautical.

13th – Street Orchestra Live from 2.30pm – An orchestra of over 40 players playing popular and classical music in Aveley’s garden

17th – Jenny conducting a presentation and demonstration on Flower Arranging at 1.30pm

18th – Aveley Lodge Residents Quiz Afternoon from 1.30pm

25th – Aveley Lodge’s 30th Anniversary celebrations. Afternoon Tea served from 3pm.

10th – Phil’s Eats and Treats club at 2pm – making no bake salted caramel cheesecake bites and at 6.30pm, visit by 1st Monkwick Brownies

23rd – A performance by The Aveley Lodge Amateur Dramatics Group of “Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs” with a twist from 2pm

14th – Aveley Lodge Christmas Party 2-4pm with a festive themed afternoon tea served from 3.30pm. We will have carol singing from Aveley Lodge’s very own choir, various stalls selling last minute Christmas goodies throughout the afternoon and our popular Christmas hamper raffle.

16th – Fingringhoe Primary School visiting to sing Christmas carols at 1.30pm

17th – Performance by Rat Pack Tribute Artist with a Xmas theme at 1.30pm

4th – Pets as Therapy Dog from 11am and the start of our Bird Week. Learn all about our resident feathered friends, take part in bird themed arts and crafts, fun-filled games and bird watching activities.

6th – An amazing live flying display from the Eden Birds of Prey team at 1.30pm followed by an up close and personal session where you can have photos with the birds.

5th – Phil’s Eats n Treats Club (Pretzels)

8th – V.E. DAY 75th Anniversary celebrations with Aveley Lodge’s own Street Party with a traditional English Afternoon tea served from 3pm onwards. Nostalgic entertainment by a war time singer.
