Palliative Care

Palliative care provides much needed comfort and support for those with severe or life-limiting illnesses, helping individuals to live fully with dignity. At Aveley Lodge Care Home, we adopt a holistic approach, working collaboratively and closely with multi-disciplinary teams such as nurses, GPs, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists to provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support and care for both the individual and their families.

We can provide care and support for residents who have:

  • Advanced incurable diseases like cancer, dementia, heart disease and motor neurone disease.
  • Acute conditions resulting from a stroke or accident.
  • Frailty due to age or multiple coexisting conditions.
  • Risk of sudden health declines due to ongoing illness.

Each person’s journey with palliative care is unique, and our care team works closely with individuals and their loved ones to ensure the utmost comfort during this challenging time. Our tailored care plans reflect each resident’s unique healthcare needs and personal preferences, ensuring their care evolves with any changes in their condition.

When end-of-life care becomes necessary, our compassionate team is there to offer continuous support. We understand the sensitivity of this time and work closely with families to honour their loved one’s wishes, ensuring that our care allows them to pass away with dignity and respect. Our care team is available 24 hours a day, offering reassurance and personalised attention throughout every stage of care.
